Single Leg Balance

Required Equipment

  • A wand, staff or hiking pole for balance assistance as needed

Starting Position

  • Standing in an upright posture with feet roughly shoulder distance apart in an area clear of any obstacles

Procedure

  • Lift one leg into the air.  You should be balancing on one leg much like a flamingo!

Coaching Keys

  • Remember to use a balance assist as needed!

How It Should Feel

  • This move challenges balance and should feel unsteady but safe.
